How did you meet your diamond family?

“I met Kate Brownell during Recruitment in 2019 and we immediately hit it off! We both love fashion, sports, Clemson, the lake, long walks on the Dikes, and dinner at any restaurant Downtown Clemson. I love Kate’s sense of humor and her confidence in all that she does! She is always willing to lead in any way and serve within our chapter. I was so excited when we welcomed Amelia Harless into our family this past year of Recruitment. She has been such a blessing and the perfect addition to our Diamond Family! I am so excited for the upcoming year of Recruitment in the fall, as we will welcome a fourth member into our Diamond Family so soon!!”

How did you meet your diamond family?

“Joining a Diamond Family was one of the things I was most looking forward to when going through Recruitment. I met Georgia during Philanthropy Round and we instantly clicked. We had so much in common and I remember being one of the very last people to leave that round because we didn't want to stop talking. Georgia is one of the funniest people I know. She always knows how to put a smile on my face and I am so grateful to have her as a friend.”

“Amelia and I met during Sisterhood Round of Recruitment this past year. Amelia was so spunky and had the most fun personality. I was so excited when I found out she chose ADPi and was even more excited that I got her as a Bid Day Buddy. I met up with Amelia the following week when she came up to Clemson to visit and I instantly knew I wanted her as my little Diamond Sister. From all our coffee dates and walks on the Dikes, Amelia has become one of the greatest blessings of Sophomore year.”

✦All About Your Diamond Family ✦

  1. What is your Diamond Family’s idea of the perfect Diamond Family date?

“Our ideal date would definitely be getting ice cream from Spill the Beans or going on a walk at the Dikes!”

  2. Where would you most likely find the members in your Diamond Family on campus?

“Amelia would most likely be studying/doing homework in the business building, and Georgia would be getting coffee from the Douthit Starbucks.”

  3. What do you admire most about the members in your Diamond Family?

“Amelia has the kindest soul, and she makes everyone around her feel special. Georgia can light up any room she walks into. Her lighthearted spirit makes her so much fun to be around!”

Amelia Harless

“Hey y’all! My name is Amelia Harless and I’m from Hartsville, S,C. I’m a freshman Biological Sciences major! I absolutely love Alpha Delta Pi here at Clemson University and I’m so blessed to be a part of AC ‘20.”

HOW DID YOU MEET YOUR DIAMOND FAMILY?

“Recruitment looked a little different for my Alpha Class this year. Even though I was not able to participate in in-person recruitment, Kate made it feel just as special. I met Kate during Sisterhood Round and instantly knew she was someone I would love to be around. An instantaneous smile struck my face when I saw the name “Kate Brownell” pop into my breakout room during Preference Round! Kate embodies every quality I look for in a friend, so I knew she would make the perfect sister. After officially receiving Kate as my Diamond Sister at Diamond Sister Reveal, I could not wait to meet the rest of our Diamond Family. Kate introduced me to Georgia at Spill the Beans (of course) and Georgia instantly welcomed me with open arms and a full heart to Alpha Delta Pi. My Diamond Family has steadily poured so much love and joy into me during my time at Clemson. Each of the two girls in my Diamond Family inspire me to be an influential member of our chapter and to radiate love for each other and for Zeta Nu.”

Both Georgia and Kate love coffee so I would definitely find them either at All In Coffee Shop or the Douthit Starbucks!”

I love Kate’s drive and consistency. I always look forward to hearing about her plans and her next project. However, no matter how busy she is, she always makes an effort to ask me about my life and plans time for us to spend together! Plus, Kate always puts up with all of my constant text messages :). I love how Georgia is so present in her conversations and can make anyone smile. She always makes me feel appreciated and loved and I can’t thank her enough for that!”

Adeline Cagle

IMG_0517.JPG

“Hey y’all! My name is Adeline Cagle. I am a Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management major, with a concentration in Travel and Tourism, from Columbia, S.C. I went through Recruitment as a Sophomore and am in AC ‘19!”

How did you meet your Diamond sister?

“During Recruitment, Sara stood out to me. She was genuine, outgoing, and had an Alabama southern accent (I like to joke with her that it is different from a South Carolina accent!). I was over the moon when I found out she went ADPi!! Sara ended up being my Bid Day Buddy, which then led to her being my Diamond Sister!! The minute I met Sara I knew that we would be a great fit for one another. I love that Sara is someone who is just as, if not more, outgoing as me, loves clothes (especially puffed sleeve tops) as much as I do, and is always down to make Tik Toks with me. Even though I am a Junior and she is a Freshman, I was so thankful that she chose my old self to be her Diamond Sister. She actually got to talk to my Diamond Sister, Rivers Chandler, during Recruitment, which made it even more special when she joined our ADPi fam!! Rivers adores Sara, and so do I. Sara is the best addition to our Diamond fam, and I am looking forward to adding another sister in our Diamond Family in the near future – which is so hard to believe!” -Adeline Cagle, AC ‘19

How did you meet your Diamond sister?

“I met my Diamond Sister, Adeline Cagle, during Recruitment! I talked to her second or third round of Recruitment and remembered her because she had such fun earrings and had the sweetest personality. On Bid Day, Adeline called me and told me she was my “Bid Day Buddy”. I was so excited because she was the absolute BEST during Recruitment. After Recruitment, we called each other for an hour pretty frequently and became close. Adeline constantly encourages me, studies with me, and is an older sister for me. I never had an older sibling growing up, so Adeline was exactly what I needed entering into college. I am so excited to add on to our Diamond Family next year, but right now I’m excited to continue to grow our relationship as she pours into me!!” -Sara Arrington, AC ‘20

“Hey everyone!! My name is Ashleigh Piro and I’m from Trumbull, Connecticut. I am currently a freshman majoring in pre-business intending to go the accounting route. Once I graduate from Clemson I hope to work for a big four accounting firm in New York City. When choosing what school I wanted to go to I knew I wanted to leave Connecticut and head south, and without even visiting Clemson I made it my home for the next four years. When I stepped on campus on move-in day I knew I had made the right decision. I am so grateful for the friends I have made here, especially through ADPi! I have my heart set on studying abroad in Australia my junior year, as I have always loved to travel and see new places. I plan to become involved with the club swim team at Clemson because I was a swimmer for 14 years of my life, but I knew I didn’t want to be a competitive swimmer in college since I wanted to focus more on my academics. Some other things I love are coffee, watching Netflix, going to New York City, being with friends, and shopping. I am so excited to make more amazing memories and can't wait to meet more of my ADPi sisters!” -Ashleigh Piro, AC ‘20

I originally started my college education at the University of South Carolina (our rival, I know), but as soon as I visited Clemson during the fall of my freshman year I knew that I had to transfer and I came to Clemson that spring! Transferring to Clemson was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and it brought me to my home away from home, my Clemson family, and ADPi! Outside of school, I love to spend time with my friends and family at the lake and at the beach. I can’t wait to make more memories at Clemson and ADPi!” -Emma Hull, AC ‘20

At Clemson, I’m super involved in young life & I am leading wyldlife at RC Edwards middle school—go panthers! I even get to lead on the same team as two of my ADPi sisters, Abigail Groomes and Mallory Larson. I’m majoring in wildlife biology and fisheries because of my passion for animals and nature. If you know me, you know how strong my feelings are towards this topic. I chose Clemson University because of how it made me feel when I visited. The university reminded me of my small hometown, which is ironic because the school’s capacity is huge. The coolest place I ever lived was Clermont-Ferrand, France!! When I lived in Europe, my family traveled all the time and made memories I will never forget!!!! The major I decided on is Industrial Engineering, which would shock younger me. I never wanted to follow my father’s footsteps of being an engineer, but I ended up loving it! Because I chose engineering, Clemson was a perfect choice. However, this wasn’t the only reason Clemson was so perfect for me. Clemson truly felt like a family from the moment I stepped onto the campus for the first time, and I knew it would feel like home. When I’m not studying, I love to sing, and I’m learning how to play guitar and piano on my own! And if you ever need to find me, I’m almost always at a church or Christian organization!!!” -Hayley Lightsey, AC ‘20

“Helloooo! My name is Ellison Goodwin, and I am from Charleston, South Carolina. I am currently a Sophomore pursuing a major in Architecture with a minor in History. I plan to combine these areas of study to undertake a career in Architectural Historic Preservation. I fell in love with the charms of old architecture while growing up in Charleston. I hope to preserve buildings that have outlived their original use by repurposing them for modern functionality. I am the first of my family members to attend Clemson, as most of my family attended U of SC. My decision to attend Clemson came as a big shock to them, however, it did not stop me from moving right on up to Tigertown! Becoming a member of ADPi this year has been a huge honor and I am so blessed to be a part of such a great family. My mom and cousin are ADPis, so it is so cool to be their Greek sister too! I have heard so much about the everlasting memories and opportunities that they have because of ADPI, and I look forward to creating memories of my own with Zeta Nu!” -Ellison Goodwin, AC ‘20

“Wow! I cannot believe my 3.5 years at Clemson has come to an end. Joining ADPi has meant joining a group of strong and compassionate women who have pushed me to grow into the independent woman that I am today. I am very thankful to ADPi for not only my beautiful friends, but also for the community it gave me. My favorite ADPi memory was ClemsonLIFE Bid Day as this was when our wonderful ClemsonLIFE member, Grace, came into my life! I am very proud to be a part of a sorority that always strives for inclusiveness. I will always hold the people I met in ADPi, especially my Diamond Family, close to my heart as I step into the next chapter of my life. I feel incredibly blessed to say that I will be continuing my journey in Durham, NC as I have accepted a job at Duke University Hospital as an oncology nurse. I am so excited for this next chapter in my life and I can’t wait to see what it holds for me! All the Pi love, Molly.” -Molly Yost, AC ‘17

Rebekah Lannamann

“In February I will be moving to Charlotte where I will be starting as a nurse resident on the ICU floor at Novant Hospital. For one year, I will rotate through their four different ICUs before deciding on which one I would like to work on. Throughout college, ADPi's sisterhood has meant so much to me. It means always having a friend in your classes, someone to study with, and a sister to support you in all your endeavors. My favorite ADPi memory is the Mallard Ball last year. I had so much fun dancing and being surrounded by all my friends!!” -Rebekah Lannamann, AC ‘17

Jane Janick

Jane Janick

Jane Janick

“When I think of my favorite ADPi memories, I think of my forever friend Delaney who grew up with me from freshman year to her bridal party, the most encouraging friend Julia who I can talk to for hours on end, my sweet, full-of-life little Kiely, my NYC summer roommate and best influence Emory, my crazy friend Hannah who agreed to road trip to Nola with me and 10 boys... the list goes on. Sisterhood has shown itself through many memories and friendships I will forever hold close to my heart. As far as looking toward the future, I’m hung up chasing a dream I’ve had since I was a little girl. After spending my summers as a Buying Intern for American Eagle and then QVC, I’m currently interviewing with a few brands in hopes of being a real life Assistant Buyer. To all my sisters, you can literally do anything, I promise. What a blessing this incredible chapter has been. Diamonds are forever my ladies.” -Jane Janick, AC ‘17

“I will always cherish my time in Zeta Nu. From being an Alpha to a Pi, this sisterhood is like no other. When running down Bowman in 2017, each sister I met embraced me with open arms. We all push each other to be our very best. I knew I could always call on any one of my sisters if I needed help in any way. My favorite ADPi memory would have to be serving with our 2020 Executive Committee. We all faced many challenges during our term, but each one of us adapted to any obstacle or change with so much grace and compassion for our chapter. From a virtual Recruitment to a virtual Initiation, I will forever hold on to these memories from our weekly Wednesday gatherings. Following graduation, I will still remain in the Clemson area for the Spring semester. I will continue teaching fitness classes at the YMCA in Seneca as well as tutoring for the Clemson athletes. In the fall of 2021, I plan to attend graduate school to pursue a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. While I do not hear back from any schools until mid-March, I am positive that the Lord will place me exactly where I need to be. I look forward to working, serving, and specializing in Dysphagia in both the hospital and nursing home!” -Katie Blackwood, AC ‘17

“Hey again! My name is Emily Bryant! I am a senior here at Clemson in Alpha Delta Pi and I (sadly) will be graduating at the end December. I would stay for another 4 years if they would let me! Coming to Clemson from out of state was easily the hardest, yet best decision of my life. Like it is for everyone, Freshman year was a huge transition period, but ADPi truly made the change much easier by providing me with the sweetest and most supportive group of friends. Since running down Bowman to ADPi in 2017, I have made countless memories with the same girls that were beside me that day and have had so many opportunities that wouldn’t be possible without ADPi. Knowing that this semester would be my last, I made the conscious effort to take time each day to reflect on my three and a half years here and soak in all of my “lasts”. Doing this made me realize just how much of an impact ADPi and its members have had on my college experience and on my life. Whether I needed someone to celebrate with, a shoulder to cry on, or anything in between, I knew I had multiple girls just one call away ready to be there for me in whatever way I needed. I have had the best times of my life with my ADPi sisters and I wouldn’t change a thing for the world. This sorority has brought me the best of friends that I know will be by my side through every milestone of life. In February, I will be moving to Nashville, Tennessee to work as a RN at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. I am so excited for this opportunity and to finally make my dreams of being a nurse come true. I can’t wait to be in Nashville, but I am also already counting down the days until I am back visiting my girls in Clemson. I cannot put into words how thankful I am for Clemson Alpha Delta Pi and all the joy it has given me throughout my time here!” -Emily Bryant, AC, ‘17

“Hey y'all, I'm Emily! I have just graduated from Clemson with a Bachelor's of Science in Animal and Veterinary Sciences and a minor in Biological Sciences. I have applied to several veterinary schools in hopes of attending one next fall. In the meantime, I will be working for Martin Veterinary Services, a mixed animal veterinary practice based out of Williamston, SC. I am so excited to be able to stay in the Clemson area while I continue to work hands-on with a variety of animals including dogs, cats, cows, horses, goats, and the occasional raccoon. I went through Recruitment my Sophomore year at Clemson and joining ADPi was one of the best things to ever happen to me. I was able to meet a great group of women and be surrounded by people who pushed me to be the best version of myself. I am forever grateful to Zeta Nu for the friendships and opportunities it has brought me. The people are my favorite memory and I will cherish the time spent with all my sisters. I am ever loyal to this college and these women. Go Tigers!” -Emily Lynch, AC ‘18

“My name is Hannah Joye, and I am graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Clemson. I cannot believe how quickly graduation came. Growing up, I was always told that college would be the best 4 years of my life, and, without a doubt, that has been true for me. I have been challenged and encouraged to become the best version of myself over the last 3.5 years, and that is largely in part to the support from the Zeta Nu chapter of Alpha Delta Pi. From the very beginning as a freshman, I was surrounded by women who had the same passion for achievement and growth as myself. ADPi has provided me with the best friends and community I could have ever imagined, and I will even have sisters standing next to me on my wedding day next summer. My favorite ADPi memory would have to be Mallard Ball just this past November. Mallard is special because it is unique to our chapter, but this year with everything looking different, putting on the camo overalls one last time was a gift, and I will treasure that night forever. I am so grateful for the countless memories that ADPi has provided, and I truly cannot imagine my college experience without this group of women. Beginning in the new year, I will be moving to Charlotte, North Carolina to begin a career in Labor and Delivery nursing. I am looking forward to the life change ahead, but Clemson and Zeta Nu will always be home.” Hannah Joye, AC ‘17

“My name is Nan Spacek and I am graduating from Clemson with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After graduation, I plan to start a nursing job at Vanderbilt Health in Nashville, TN. I am so grateful to Alpha Delta Pi for the amazing group of girls it has given me. This organization has supported me, loved me, and pushed me so much over my time here at Clemson. Trying to pick a favorite memory from these past four years almost seems impossible, but I think one of the sweetest moments I’ve had was this year's Mallard Ball while dancing with all my friends, singing at the top of our lungs to the song 'Live Like You Were Dying.' I think it was probably the happiest I've been, but somehow there wasn't a dry eye in the whole group. Saying goodbye to my time here at Clemson is made especially hard knowing I am also saying goodbye to this organization. Thank you Alpha Delta Pi for giving me something that I know I will cherish forever.” -Nan Spacek, AC ‘17

“Hi! My name is Ella Marie Melton and I will be graduating this December with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing! I am so excited to be heading back to Tennessee after I graduate! I have accepted a job at Vanderbilt Medical Center in their Nurse Residency Program in Nashville, Tennessee on the Adult Acute floor. I am thrilled to learn and grow my nursing skills through this program, and I cannot wait to meet new people and care for my patients. There are truly not enough words to describe how much Clemson ADPi has meant to me these past four years. ADPi has given me so many opportunities for leadership and has provided me with confidence to be bold and try new things. Through ADPi, I have had the chance to serve others and give back to my community. I am beyond thankful for ADPi for giving me lifelong best friends, fun memories, and opportunities for leadership and service to others. I am so ready to start my new journey thanks to the love and support I have experienced from Clemson ADPi. One of my very favorite ADPi memories is from Mallard Ball my Junior year. My friends stayed the entire time at Sleepy Hollow dancing and having a good time! We were having so much fun that when the band started packing up for the night, we begged them to play one more song just for us and they did! This is just one of my favorite memories that I will never forget and cherish for a lifetime.” -Ella Marie Melton, AC ‘17

“I can’t believe graduation came so fast! This December I will begin a full time position as an Operations Coordinator at a logistics company in Greenville. I’m so thankful for my time at Clemson and my sisters in ADPi who have supported me, loved me, and become my family away from home. As cheesy as it may be, I’ll never forget running down Bowman on Bid Day and the pure joy of joining the very best sisterhood. We really do live for each other.” -Abigail Cox, AC ‘17
