“Hi PNMs! I am so happy you’ve decided to go through recruitment this year and cannot wait to meet y’all! My name is Brooke Kopittke and I am from Waxhaw, North Carolina. I will be a sophomore this fall studying Psychology while doing a Pre-Dental track. I chose to go through recruitment because I wanted to meet a good group of genuine girls. Being from a smaller town, I only knew a few people who were also attending Clemson and it turned out to be the best decision of my life!

In my typical fashion, the morning of round one I woke up by falling out of my lofted bed. What I had hoped to be a perfect morning turned out to be the most chaotic one as I was rushing to get ready while also trying to bandage my shin. When I finally got to rounds, the cut turned out to be deeper than I originally thought and I walked into the ADPi party with blood seeping through my rainbow band-aid. Naturally, I was terrified of making a bad impression. What could have been a terrible morning ended up illuminating where I knew I belonged. Tatum Sass escorted me into the round and we began to talk. Immediately, we bonded over our mutual clumsiness. She too had a less than perfect start to her day. Rather than a dry, cookie-cutter conversation we spoke candidly. She made me feel at home, eased my worries, and I had a great time. What could have been a horribly awkward encounter ended up being the catalyst to a real conversation that highlighted the kindness, honesty, and humor we’ve all grown to know and love in ADPi. Although this experience introduced me to ADPi, there was no question in my mind at the end of recruitment of where I wanted to be.

Every interaction along the way was just as enlightening as the first. Each sister was unique with differing experiences. I shared the same charming, outgoing rapport with all of them.

ADPi has given me my best friends. No matter what we are doing, whether it’s studying for a dreaded Chemistry test with Abby Beitel, coaching a goofy Pi Spike team with Hunter Dest, or getting all dolled-up for functions like Semi and Mallard with Brielle Trygg, these girls have been by my side and bring out the best version of myself. My favorite memories from freshman year of college were made with my sisters and I am so excited to be living on the ADPi hall this year making new ones. I’ve gotten so much more out of recruitment than I could’ve ever imagined. My sisters have lifted me up on my darkest of days and have been by my side on the brightest. It is completely normal to feel overwhelmed and nervous going into this crazy year, but we are all in the same boat and will embrace it together. My best advice I could give to you during this new and exciting time of your life is to roll with the punches because it may lead to the best conversations. “Hi PNMs! My name is Evie Frazier and I am a junior Biology/Bioengineering major from Greenville, SC! We are all beyond excited to meet all of you in August! I grew up an avid tiger fan and always knew that I wanted to call Clemson home. I was nervous going into recruitment, as most girls are, and felt intimidated by all of these older, beautiful women. But walking into ADPi each round was completely different. I was always greeted with excitement and a smile, and every girl I talked to was so genuine. I felt like I could be 100% myself and had such meaningful conversations with every girl I talked to! I met my big diamond sister, Bridgett, in Sisterhood round and that's when I knew I wanted to go ADPi. We clicked immediately and I have looked up to her ever since. This chapter has surrounded me with an immense amount of support and sisterhood, and has helped me better myself in my faith, studies, as well as my confidence.

ADPi has also given me some of my very best friends. Bella and I lived on the same floor freshman year and quickly became close friends when we both realized we wanted to go ADPi. Little did I know that the girl who is, quite literally, my complete opposite would turn into my best friend. I think our friendship speaks for our chapter as a whole.

Each girl is so different in their own special way but we all have such a strong bond and love for each other.

Living on the ADPi Hall this year has been one of my favorite memories. Our hall was filled with Katie's contagious laugh, Kala's fashion advice (and earring collection), Hannah Laura hyping everyone up, and lots of late night talks and studying in the bottom of Barnett. These are times that I will hold near to my heart forever!

We know that your recruitment process may look different than what you have expected, but it will still be a life-changing experience. We cannot wait to show y'all what our sisterhood is all about and how amazing each and every girl is in this chapter! Be true to yourself and you will be loved for who you are. You will meet so many amazing women through this process, so I encourage you to be as positive as you can about it! I hope y'all love the Zeta Nu chapter of Alpha Delta Pi as much as I do!! “Hey PNMs! I am so excited to meet each one of you!! I am a sophomore marketing major with a whole lot of love for Clemson football and my ADPi girls! Although I grew up coming to all of the Clemson home football games, I did not know a single person coming into recruitment or freshman year! I’d be lying if I told you recruitment wasn’t very intimidating for me, but I can tell you now that it was so worth it. I have found a group of girls that pushes me to grow in my academics, in my faith, and in everyday life.

My recruitment experience looked a little bit different from most people’s. I had an extremely bad case of mono which led to my mom staying in Clemson and driving me to our condo between parties to take naps. I was exhausted to say the least, but every single round I would look forward to talking to the ADPi girls. I clicked immediately with each of the girls I talked to and I always felt so welcomed and loved for just being myself.

From day one, I knew that the Zeta Nu chapter of Alpha Delta Pi was going to be the group that would help mold me into the best possible version of myself.

In round one I met one of my best friends and the most amazing big in the world. Elizabeth has taught me that life is a gift and that I need to live it to the fullest. She is one of the greatest things that ADPi has given me. One of the other gifts that ADPi gave me was my girl squad. These girls have truly seen me at my best having a blast at a function and at my worst literally crying after failing an exam.

Being someone that came in knowing absolutely nothing about Clemson’s greek life, the best advice I can give you is to follow your heart. I know it sounds silly and everyone has told you to trust the process and be yourself, but it is true. It will all work out for the best and you will find your people! Although I hope it is ADPi because of the amazing experience I have had, trust yourself and go with what feels like home! “Hi PNMs!! We are SO excited that y’all have decided to go through the recruitment process. There is not a more special process that leads you to long-lasting friendships. I remember when I went through recruitment my Pi Chi and mom told me to “follow my heart” and “you’ll know which sorority is right for you when you feel something”. I kept these things in the wayyyy back of my head. It wasn’t until the second round (Philanthropy round) when I walked into ADPi that I felt that “something”. As soon as I stepped into ADPi and saw the Ronald McDonald sign, it instantly clicked for me. I was all too familiar with the Ronald McDonald House as my grandad (BigDad) was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2008 and was in and out of chemotherapy and radiation for years. During those years, my grandma (Grammy) would stay in something similar to a Ronald McDonald House that was attached to a cancer hospital called MD Anderson in Houston, TX. Knowing that Grammy would have a quiet and cozy place to sleep for one night was so comforting. As I’m sure you know, it is hard to get sleep in a hospital as nurses and doctors are constantly coming into rooms to check vitals and give medicine. These rooms would serve as her “home away from home” for 8 years as BigDad was in and out of the hospital. From that point on in recruitment, I knew that I HAD to go ADPi. Because their philanthropy had impacted me so personally, I wanted to continue helping other families that were dealing with the same situation.

One of my favorite parts of being in ADPi is going to the Ronald McDonald House in Greenville, SC. I have enjoyed multiple trips to the house with my sisters as we bake or cook. Spending time in the kitchen with the other girls really gets you out of your comfort zone, as the girls on the trip may not be your closest friends. I can honestly say that I have come out with strong friendships because of the trips to the house. These girls turned out to be my best friends and I can truly say that it was because of our time away from campus and giving back together that these friendships started to grow.

These girls have shaped me into who I am today by not always asking the easy questions and checking up on me, while also just loving me through all the good and bad times of life. Rivers always taught me that studying is necessary in college (although I wish it wasn’t) but it also isn’t the only thing in college. Hadley taught me that even a quick text “good morning” can turn someone’s bad day into good. Sarah taught me that a clean and good-smelling room will attract people to watch the Bachelor. Elizabeth taught me that sometimes you just have to laugh when you fail a test (and yes you will fail a test at some point in your life). So many other life lessons have been learned throughout my two years in ADPi. These girls have already impacted my life so greatly and I couldn’t ever imagine life without them. They truly push me to be the best version of myself and for that I am ever grateful for ADPi (and shoutout to Eugenia!!)

ADPi cannot wait to show you how special the girls in this sorority are during recruitment. However this recruitment process may look, never forget what you stand for and don’t ever change how you look or what you say because you think that’s how someone wants you to be. There is a place for everyone and if you feel pressured to change who you are, then that isn’t the place for you! “Hi PNMs! We are counting down the days until we can finally meet y’all :) Recruitment has always been one of my favorite memories at Clemson and I hope y’all enjoy it as much as I did. Just remember we get nervous on the other side too and we want y’all to have the best experience possible. I remember back to my freshman year I was the first one in my family to go through recruitment so I had no idea what to expect. No matter what happens, ADPi will always welcome you with open arms even if you have no idea what you are doing… like me.

I am so proud to be part of the Zeta Nu chapter at Clemson University because of the values that ADPi has as a whole. Going through recruitment I noticed how well-rounded ADPi’s were. They were the girls that I knew I could have a fun time with but also the girls who cared about their studies, their faith, and most importantly themselves. I always felt like ADPis were so respectable and I knew I wanted to be a part of a group of girls who set high standards for themselves.

ADPi has pushed me to do my absolute best in everything I do. This sorority has truly

shaped me into the person I am today.

ADPi has given me my forever best friends. These girls have seen me at my worst and my best. From movie nights on the hall to moving into our first apartment together, they have made my time at Clemson one I will remember forever. Thinking about leaving these girls and having to say my goodbye to ADPi is the absolute worst feeling ever but I am so thankful for the memories made.

I can’t thank my ADPi family enough for being by my side through it all. I never knew my Big Diamond Sister would actually become my best friend. I met her on Bid Day in August of my freshman year and this past week I watched her get engaged. It is friendships like this that you will find in Alpha Delta Pi.

I wish I was in y’alls shoes right now going through recruitment. No matter where you end up you will have the best greek life experience and so much to look forward to. The best advice I have is to not do what others want you to do or base your decision off of things you have heard --- this is about you.

“Hey everyone! My name is Brooke Stride and I'm a Nursing major from the northern suburbs of Chicago. Unlike a lot of people who go to Clemson, I unfortunately didn't grow up with orange and purple running through my blood. However, from the moment I stepped foot on campus during the first day of recruitment, I immediately felt welcomed into the crazy thing that people call the “Clemson Family.” This past freshman year was by far the best year of my life. Aside from how amazing being a student is on its own and being a member of the Rally Cats dance team, ADPi has made such a positive impact on my college experience and life in general. I credit this sorority with helping me grow my confidence, gratitude and faith.

One of my favorite things about ADPi is the standard everyone holds themselves to. As I spoke with more and more members throughout each round, their drive to succeed and to help others stood out to me most. As much as college is about having fun and finding your lifelong friends, it's also about surrounding yourself with people who challenge you to grow and who share your values. The academic emphasis ADPi has is something I also really like because you have almost 300 study buddies to go to for help! The amount of smarty pi's in this chapter is INSANE and I look up to each and every one of them. You'll always have someone to live in the dungeon of Cooper Library with you! Beyond academics, everyone holds themselves to a standard of kindness that is unrivaled. The women I've met through ADPi are some of the most faithful, hilarious, outgoing and genuine people I've ever met. Not to mention, everyone's beautiful on the inside and out. Seriously, I remember walking into rounds one day where every member was wearing white and my first thought was that they looked like angels.

Being from out of state, I was worried I would struggle to find people I would relate and confide in; oh did these girls prove my worries wrong! I have found everything I didn't know I needed and more in each member of ADPi.

To the nervous freshman and/or PNM that reads this, my biggest piece of advice to you is to open up during your rounds and trust yourself! Whether you find your home in ADPi (which you should! But I'm a little biased lol) or another one of the amazing chapters here at Clemson, be reassured that the people you meet here at Clemson will have such an amazing impact on you. If my sorority experience has taught me anything, it is that the people at this school are here to embrace you, challenge you, and make you the best version of yourself.
