Audrey Kellan, AC ‘17

Audrey Kellan, AC ‘17

How did you meet your diamond family?

“Finding my Little Diamond Sister was something I looked forward to my entire freshman year. I was so blessed to have met all of them during recruitment throughout my three years. I met my sweet Little Diamond Sister, Hannah, in the Sisterhood Round of Recruitment my sophomore year. Instantly, Hannah became someone I loved. I ended up speaking with her during Preference Round and she ran down Bowman Field to me on Bid Day! Hannah has always been a constant rock within my life and I know I am able to go to her with anything. She is the type of person that I feel like I've known forever. The next year during Recruitment, Hannah and I met Berkley. We both ended up speaking with her during Preference Round and praying that she would go ADPi. Berkley is such a little ray of sunshine. Even though Berkley is two years younger than me, I can confidently say she is one of my greatest friends. Then Berkley, Hannah, and I all met Riley over virtual Recruitment this past fall and I also spoke with her during Preference Round. Riley is always such a light and has the most fun personality. I can't wait to watch her grow at Clemson and within ADPi. I am so thankful that the four of us have found each other because I know these friendships we have built will last forever. I wish I didn't have to leave these girls in three months, but I know they will be doing amazing things here at Clemson and brighten up so many lives. This sweet family of mine will always have a special place in my heart and will hold so many memories that I will take with me onto my next adventure.”

All About Your Diamond Family:

  1. What is one piece of advice you would give the other members of your Diamond Family?

“The biggest piece of advice that I have is to take in every moment. I would do anything to go back and have just one more year in yalls shoes. College will always have its ups and downs but there is truly something special about being a Zeta Nu at Clemson. It has given me the best times and incredible moments with my friends that I could only have dreamed of. All of the small things will become your biggest memories. Eventually you will be doing all of your lasts together and wishing you could hit a restart button.”

  2. How has your Diamond Family impacted your college experience?

“My Diamond Family has been one of my biggest blessings during my time at Clemson. They are the type of people that you don't see everyday but you know will always be there for you. This is a type of friendship that I hope everyone finds during their time in college.”

The next member of this Diamond Family is Hannah Perry! Continue reading to hear about Hannah’s special connection with her Diamond Family!

Hannah Perry

Hannah Perry, AC ‘18

Hannah Perry, AC ‘18

“Hi! My name is Hannah Perry, Alpha Class ‘18 and I am from Greer, South Carolina. I am a Marketing major, but am planning on attending an Accelerated Nursing program after I graduate next May! I have an adorable goldendoodle puppy named Cooper! He is the absolute cutest!”

How did you meet your Diamond Family?

“I met my Big Diamond Sister, Audrey, during recruitment Freshman year. From the moment we met, we automatically just clicked! Not only is she just an absolute ray of sunshine, but she welcomed me with open arms and made my freshman year the absolute best! She has always been there for me through thick and thin, and I know that if there is ever anything I need she will always be there. My sophomore year, I was so excited to become a Big Diamond Sister and get my sweet Little Diamond Sister! I met Berkley during Round 1 of Recruitment, and we instantly connected. Even though we had just met, I felt like I had known her forever. I ended up talking with Berkley during Preference Round and she ran home to me on Bid Day! I was so happy to have her in ADPi and as my Bid Day Buddy. I knew that I wanted my sweet Berkley to be my Little Diamond Sister, and I am so blessed to have her in my life! This past year, I met Riley with Berkley during Recruitment. From the moment we connected through Zoom, her energy and sweet spirit were qualities that I absolutely loved. Riley is so incredibly funny and can always make you smile and laugh. She is the perfect addition to our family and I just love all of them so very much. These sweet girls have been by my side through some of the absolute hardest times in my life. After losing my dad to cancer last May, they were there to love me and pick me up when I needed it most! Words cannot describe how grateful I am to have these girls as my family. I am so thankful for Alpha Delta Pi, and the lifelong friendships it has given me!”

All About Your Diamond Family:

  1. How has your Diamond Family inspired you?

“My Diamond Family inspires me to be the absolute best version of myself. They are always there for me, and for each other and show so much love, kindness, and support. They have shown me what true friendship means and I am so very thankful to have them in my life.”

  2. What do you admire most about your Diamond Family?

“The part of my Diamond Family that I admire the most is their kindness and true friendship. I always feel like I can be myself around my family, and we always have the best time together. They all have the sweetest hearts, and I strive to be as loving and kind as them.”

The next member of this Diamond Family is Berkley Bryant. Continue reading to hear about Berkley’s love for ADPi and her Diamond Family!

Berkley Bryant

Berkley Bryant, AC ‘19

Berkley Bryant, AC ‘19

“Hi!! My name is Berkley Bryant, AC ‘19, and I am a sophomore Biological Sciences major with a Business Administration minor from Anderson, South Carolina! Clemson has always had a special place in my heart, and I am so thankful to experience the true meaning of “Clemson Family” to the fullest through my involvement in ADPi, Clemson University Guide Association, Tiger Dancers, and Clemson Miracle!”

How did you meet your Diamond Family?

“Hannah was the first person I met in Round 1 of Recruitment when she scooped me at the door!! I remember her being just as excited to be there as I was at that moment and we immediately hit it off! As if I couldn’t be more excited about how well that day went, Audrey introduced herself as Hannah’s Big Diamond Sister. I was just in awe of how genuinely excited and welcoming they were towards me. I left that round feeling like they had been my friends forever! As cheesy as all of that sounds, I really did feel at home in ADPi thanks to them and the many other amazing conversations I had. Before I knew it, they became my Big Diamond Sisters! Since last year, I looked forward to meeting the newest addition to our family, and boy how LUCKY am I to have the most genuine angel, Riley, as my Little Diamond Sister! We met in virtual Recruitment, and she was just the happiest ray of sunshine even on the Zoom screen! She was my first Diamond Sister date, and I was so happy to finally meet her when she arrived on campus. I am so blessed to have these three girls in my life as a constant reminder of the support system and sisterhood that has come from our college experience.”

All About Your Diamond Family:

  1. What has been your favorite memory with your Diamond Family?

“From family dinner dates and study sessions to gamedays, birthdays, and functions, any opportunity we have to be together is always the highlight of my week! A memory that I can picture like it was yesterday was Diamond Sister Reveal my freshman year! It also happened to be my birthday weekend, so running down Bowman Field to Hannah with Audrey right behind the camera was a classic moment. After Diamond Sister reveal, they took me to Audrey’s apartment for cookie cake and it was the best day ever! Looking back, I definitely felt like I had won the lottery joining this family!!”

  2. What is something you look forward to with your Diamond Family?

“This weekend, I am so looking forward to being a part of Riley’s initiation just as Hannah was for me and Audrey was for Hannah. This tradition is something so special and meaningful, and I can’t believe it’s already been over a year since my Diamond Family took me under their wing into this amazing chapter. Audrey will be graduating this spring, so we will all be holding onto her for as long as we can!! Long term, I am so excited to get a front row seat to what the future has in store for each of them for years to come. I can confidently say that having Riley, Hannah, and Audrey in my life has made my college experience so special, and this is a forever friendship that I am always grateful for!”

The fourth member of this Diamond Family is Riley Mayfield. Continue reading about Riley’s special bond with her Diamond Family!

Riley Mayfield

Riley Mayfield, AC ‘32

Riley Mayfield, AC ‘20

“Hi y’all! My name is Riley Mayfield and I’m from Blythewood, SC - right outside of Columbia! I am an intended Bioengineering major on a Pre-Med track and I am very eager to get more involved in this field. I am so excited to be a part of ADPi and already love the community I’ve found within our chapter. I have absolutely fallen in love with Clemson and constantly feel surrounded by those who will help me grow!”

How did you meet your diamond Family?

“I met all three of these girls over virtual Recruitment and got to talk to them all during rounds and absolutely fell in love with their family and ADPi! I talked to Berkley for my first Diamond Sister Date and I was SO excited I got her! We had such an easy and effortless conversation and it felt like I had known her forever. The first week we moved to campus, I went to get ice cream with Berkley to finally meet in person and it made my week! I seriously can not say how thankful I am to always have her to talk to, laugh with (or at), and to always plan a spontaneous lunch or tan date. She is always there to talk and brighten up anyone's day and is such a genuine caring person. I remember talking to Hannah over recruitment and she made me so excited to be at Clemson and go to ADPi. She is so strong and heartfelt, and allowed me to see how our chapter encompasses these qualities as well. I absolutely loved talking to Audrey during Recruitment. She is such a ball of joy and such a kindhearted person. Audrey always lights up a room and is so funny. She always made me feel so at ease during rounds. I knew what I wanted after talking to these girls during Recruitment and I am so thankful for them. I don’t know where I would be right now if I didn't have my ADPi fam!”

All About Your Diamond Family:

  1. How has your Diamond Family impacted your freshman year?

“I am so thankful and appreciative to have these girls to look up to my freshman year! Berkeley, Hannah, and Audrey all encompass the kind of woman I want to grow to be my next three years at Clemson. It has been so comforting knowing I will always have these girls in my life and I cherish them always being there to talk to and help me find my way my first year. These girls have really been a rock for me freshman year and helped me feel so at home. With our pledge class going through Recruitment online and moving into dorms late, it was all a little overwhelming. I felt so excited yet nervous to get to Clemson because I started my life here virtually and was worried about not having as much time to adjust before school started… but these people made big Clemson feel so small! I am forever thankful that I had these girls coming to college because they only made me so much more excited for the future and to be at Clemson and a part of ADPi.”

  2. What is your favorite Diamond Family date?

“My favorite Diamond Family date was definitely when we went to Berkley’s house and had takeout - stir fry of course… it was so good! We really had such a fun time and laughed the whole dinner. Hannah brought her cute puppy, Cooper, and he got to be at dinner with us. It was the sweetest! I just remember feeling so thankful for all three of these girls and that I had them my life that night!”

IMG_3122.JPG

We are SO lucky to have this beautiful Diamond Family within our chapter. Not only do these girls have a huge impact on Zeta Nu, but they impact the entire campus of Clemson University. We cannot wait to see their bond continue to grow with each other and within Zeta Nu!

Also, a special good luck shoutout to a member of this Diamond Family, Berkley Bryant (pictured left), as she competes in Miss Clemson University!

How did you meet your diamond family?

“Joining a Diamond Family was one of the things I was most looking forward to when going through Recruitment. I met Georgia during Philanthropy Round and we instantly clicked. We had so much in common and I remember being one of the very last people to leave that round because we didn't want to stop talking. Georgia is one of the funniest people I know. She always knows how to put a smile on my face and I am so grateful to have her as a friend.”

“Amelia and I met during Sisterhood Round of Recruitment this past year. Amelia was so spunky and had the most fun personality. I was so excited when I found out she chose ADPi and was even more excited that I got her as a Bid Day Buddy. I met Kate during Sisterhood Round and instantly knew she was someone I would love to be around. An instantaneous smile struck my face when I saw the name “Kate Brownell” pop into my breakout room during Preference Round! Kate embodies every quality I look for in a friend, so I knew she would make the perfect sister. After officially receiving Kate as my Diamond Sister at Diamond Sister Reveal, I could not wait to meet the rest of our Diamond Family. Kate introduced me to Georgia at Spill the Beans (of course) and Georgia instantly welcomed me with open arms and a full heart to Alpha Delta Pi. My Diamond Family has steadily poured so much love and joy into me during my time at Clemson. Each of the two girls in my Diamond Family inspire me to be an influential member of our chapter and to radiate love for each other and for Zeta Nu.”

“Hey y’all! My name is Adeline Cagle. I am a Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management major, with a concentration in Travel and Tourism, from Columbia, S.C. I went through Recruitment as a Sophomore and am in AC ‘19!”

How did you meet your Diamond sister?

“During Recruitment, Sara stood out to me. She was genuine, outgoing, and had an Alabama southern accent (I like to joke with her that it is different from a South Carolina accent!). I was over the moon when I found out she went ADPi!! Sara ended up being my Bid Day Buddy, which then led to her being my Diamond Sister!! The minute I met Sara I knew that we would be a great fit for one another. I love that Sara is someone who is just as, if not more, outgoing as me, loves clothes (especially puffed sleeve tops) as much as I do, and is always down to make Tik Toks with me. Even though I am a Junior and she is a Freshman, I was so thankful that she chose my old self to be her Diamond Sister. She actually got to talk to my Diamond Sister, Rivers Chandler, during Recruitment, which made it even more special when she joined our ADPi fam!! Rivers adores Sara, and so do I. Sara is the best addition to our Diamond fam, and I am looking forward to adding another sister in our Diamond Family in the near future – which is so hard to believe!” -Adeline Cagle, AC ‘19

How did you meet your Diamond sister?

“I met my Diamond Sister, Adeline Cagle, during Recruitment! I talked to her second or third round of Recruitment and remembered her because she had such fun earrings and had the sweetest personality. On Bid Day, Adeline called me and told me she was my “Bid Day Buddy”. I was so excited because she was the absolute BEST during Recruitment. After Recruitment, we called each other for an hour pretty frequently and became close. Adeline constantly encourages me, studies with me, and is an older sister for me. I never had an older sibling growing up, so Adeline was exactly what I needed entering into college. I am so excited to add on to our Diamond Family next year, but right now I’m excited to continue to grow our relationship as she pours into me!!” -Sara Arrington, AC ‘20

“Hey everyone!! My name is Ashleigh Piro and I’m from Trumbull, Connecticut. I am currently a freshman majoring in pre-business intending to go the accounting route. Once I graduate from Clemson I hope to work for a big four accounting firm in New York City. When choosing what school I wanted to go to I knew I wanted to leave Connecticut and head south, and without even visiting Clemson I made it my home for the next four years. When I stepped on campus on move-in day I knew I had made the right decision. I am so grateful for the friends I have made here, especially through ADPi! I have my heart set on studying abroad in Australia my junior year, as I have always loved to travel and see new places. I plan to become involved with the club swim team at Clemson because I was a swimmer for 14 years of my life, but I knew I didn’t want to be a competitive swimmer in college since I wanted to focus more on my academics. Some other things I love are coffee, watching Netflix, going to New York City, being with friends, and shopping. I am so excited to make more amazing memories and can't wait to meet more of my ADPi sisters!” -Ashleigh Piro, AC ‘20

I am the first member in my family to attend Clemson and fell in love during my visit last year. I always knew I wanted to go to school in the south, with warmer weather, and to experience a whole new setting. Clemson embodied everything I wanted in a college from its amazing academics, opportunities, and school spirit! ADPi has already taught me the importance of sisterhood, and has introduced me to some of my closest friends, who have made my home away from home a place I can’t wait to get back to!” -Kendall Seyboth, AC ‘20

“Hey y’all I’m Emma Hull, and I’m from Spartanburg, S.C.! I am a Sophomore Microbiology major planning on doing something in the medical field following my undergrad. I originally started my college education at the University of South Carolina (our rival, I know), but as soon as I visited Clemson during the fall of my freshman year I knew that I had to transfer and I came to Clemson that spring! Transferring to Clemson was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and it brought me to my home away from home, my Clemson family, and ADPi! Outside of school, I love to spend time with my friends and family at the lake and at the beach. I can’t wait to make more memories at Clemson and ADPi!” -Emma Hull, AC ‘20

I knew that Clemson was the school for me when I visited and instantly felt a warmth seeing how happy all the students looked being on campus. If you’re ever in the car with me there’s a 99% chance we’ll only be listening to Taylor Swift, my queen. At Clemson, I’m super involved in young life & I am leading wyldlife at RC Edwards middle school—go panthers! I even get to lead on the same team as two of my ADPi sisters, Abigail Groomes and Mallory Larson. Also, I am so excited to serve y’all as a recruitment round coordinator along with Jenna Bolding this upcoming year! It’s been so much fun getting to know people this semester through this sisterhood & I can’t wait to meet even more of y’all! Boom boom & go tigers!! :)” -Elisabeth Sachtleben, AC ‘20

“Hi, my name is Sara Ashley Estes! I grew up in a small town, Newnan, Ga. This is the kind of town where everyone knows everyone, so it’s very homey. I’m majoring in wildlife biology and fisheries because of my passion for animals and nature. If you know me, you know how strong my feelings are towards this topic. I chose Clemson University because of how it made me feel when I visited. The university reminded me of my small hometown, which is ironic because the school’s capacity is huge. But there’s just something about Clemson that feels homey, and that’s something I really appreciate. I’ve truly found some of my best friends in ADPI and can’t wait to continue to see where I will go in the future.” -Sara Ashley Estes, AC ‘20

“My name is Payton Smith and I’m from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I chose to attend Clemson University because my family went there and I just have always loved the atmosphere and football games! It’s such a beautiful and well-rounded school, I can truly say I attend the best school and I am a part of the best sisterhood! I have met my best friends through ADPI! I am majoring in Graphic Communications in hopes of becoming a part of a big corporation designing logos and taking charge of their social media and advertising. I am super interested in anything related to fashion, and love to thrift. I am a beach girl for sure, however the Clemson hills are a perfect contrast to match my spontaneous personality!!” -Payton Smith, AC ‘20

“Hey y’all! My name is Kensley Armstrong and I am a sophomore Recreational Therapy major from Laurens, South Carolina. As a third-generation tiger, Clemson has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember! So, when it was time for me to make my college decision, I knew there was no place I would rather be! Clemson has brought me so many amazing memories and friends. One of the organizations I am most grateful for is Alpha Delta Pi! Through ADPi, I have met so many genuine, loving, amazing women who truly embody selflessness and grace. I am so lucky to be a part of a sorority that makes me feel so loved and valued! When I’m not hanging out with my sisters, I love to exercise, watch Clemson football, eat Chick-fil-a, hang on Bowman, and go to the lake! I’m so blessed to go to the most amazing university and I can’t wait to see what these next years at Clemson have in store! Go Tigers!” -Kensley Armstrong, AC ‘20

“Hi ladies!!! I’m Hannah Freeman, I’m from Rock Hill, S.C. and I am a Sophomore Biological Science major on the Pre-Med track. My dream has always been to become a Physician Assistant and eventually work in Family Medicine. There was never a question of where I wanted to spend my four years of undergrad. Clemson has always been a home away from home for me so getting my acceptance letter was one of the best days of my life. When I’m not studying I am always out and about with my friends and my dog! I absolutely love being on the lake and at the beach with my family. I am so excited to see what the rest of the year has in store! As always, go Tigers and go ADPi!” -Hannah Freeman, AC ‘20

“Hey I’m Abigail Groomes and I am a Sophomore Criminal Justice major from Central, S.C. I chose to go to Clemson because both my older brothers went to Clemson and I live just down the road from Clemson. I was able to see firsthand that the community at Clemson is like no other. I also chose Clemson because I love to hike, go to the lake, and go to the beach. Clemson is such a good location because you are able to do all these things! Two fun facts about me are that I LOVE plants and have over 40 in my apartment and I have a llama named after me in another country.” -Abigail Groomes, AC ‘20

ADPI has allowed me to meet a variety of people who inspire me and have shown me the meaning of true friendship. “Hey y’all!!! My name is Hayley Lightsey, and I’m from Greenville, S.C. Actually, I’m from a bunch of different places because I moved around constantly growing up. The coolest place I ever lived was Clermont-Ferrand, France!! When I lived in Europe, my family traveled all the time and made memories I will never forget!!!! The major I decided on is Industrial Engineering, which would shock younger me. I never wanted to follow my father’s footsteps of being an engineer, but I ended up loving it! Because I chose engineering, Clemson was a perfect choice. However, this wasn’t the only reason Clemson was so perfect for me. Clemson truly felt like a family from the moment I stepped onto the campus for the first time, and I knew it would feel like home. When I’m not studying, I love to sing, and I’m learning how to play guitar and piano on my own! And if you ever need to find me, I’m almost always at a church or Christian organization!!!” -Hayley Lightsey, AC ‘20

I’m a Psychology major and Religion minor. I’m not exactly sure what I want to do, but I would love to work with kids and have thought about speech pathology. I have three brothers who I adore and love spending time with. I love to be active and be outside so I love to hike, run, and swim. I also love to read and watch The Office. My favorite thing that I’m involved with on campus is Young Life! I get to hang out with high schoolers and be their friend and teach them about Jesus. It’s awesome!! I’m so thankful for Clemson and the memories I have here! I can’t believe I only have one more year. It really does fly by!!!” -Kirkley Norwood, AC ‘20

After graduating from Clemson, I plan on going to law school and hope to one day have a career as a corporate attorney. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to come to Clemson because I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and go out of state to meet new people and experience new things, but still be close to my family. In the short time I’ve been here, I have already found the sweetest home through ADPi and all the amazing friends I have made. “Hi everyone!! My name is Amanda Ricci, and I am from Saratoga Springs, New York. I am a Freshman, and currently studying Packaging Science. I first heard about Clemson because my cousin went here! I knew Clemson was the school for me as soon as I stepped onto campus and witnessed how special the school spirit was. Everyone who went to Clemson was so proud to be a Tiger, and I couldn’t wait to be a part of the family. I couldn’t be happier with my decision. The people I have met here are like family, and I am so honored to be a Tiger! I love going to Downtown Greenville, going to the beach, hanging out with my friends, going to new places, watching The Bachelorette, going to Lake Hartwell, and, of course, game days!! ADPi has already taught me so much, and I already deeply see the value in being a part of such a strong sisterhood. I have loved being a part of ADPi, and I can’t wait for the second semester to meet even more amazing people!” -Amanda Ricci, AC ‘20

“Helloooo! My name is Ellison Goodwin, and I am from Charleston, South Carolina. I am currently a Sophomore pursuing a major in Architecture with a minor in History. I plan to combine these areas of study to undertake a career in Architectural Historic Preservation. I fell in love with the charms of old architecture while growing up in Charleston. I hope to preserve buildings that have outlived their original use by repurposing them for modern functionality. I am the first of my family members to attend Clemson, as most of my family attended U of SC. My decision to attend Clemson came as a big shock to them, however, it did not stop me from moving right on up to Tigertown! Becoming a member of ADPi this year has been a huge honor and I am so blessed to be a part of such a great family. My mom and cousin are ADPis, so it is so cool to be their Greek sister too! I have heard so much about the everlasting memories and opportunities that they have because of ADPI, and I look forward to creating memories of my own with Zeta Nu!” -Ellison Goodwin, AC ‘20
